In 1573, Brother Herbert and his fellow monks relocated to the monastery of St. Francis' Folly in Greece. During this, Brother Herbert recorded some rumours within his prayer book. Rumours about ruler of Atlantis, Tihocan, being buried beneath their monastery with his piece of the Atlantean Scion. Herbert appeared to be already familiar with the story of the Scion and the rulers of Atlantis. Herbert was attracted by this possibility that a piece of the Scion lay so close to him but he attempted to suppress the thoughts. It is unknown whether or not he succeeded.

On July 16th 1945, ruler of Atlantis Natla was freed from her imprisonment. Mingling with humans, Natla became rich and set up Natla Technologies. She wanted to reunite the Scion pieces and continue her plans. To locate Tihocan's Scion piece, Natla somehow came into possession of Brother Herbert's prayer book and used it to locate Tihocan's piece. She sent Pierre Dupont to recover it. On the trail of the Scion, Lara Croft broke into Natla Technologies and used Herbert's book to find out more about the artefact and where to travel to next.
