Tomb Raider: Apocalypse is an interactive TV game developed by Minds Eye Productions specifically for Sky Gamestar, Sky digital's TV games portal. Subscribers to Sky Gamestar in England and Ireland can play "TR: Apocalypse" by pressing the red button on the remote control and selecting the game while watching network channels Sky.

Tomb Raider: Apocalypse costs 75p per player session.

EpisodesEdit

Episode 1: The Eye of OsirisEdit

The first episode in a series, released in December 18, 2002. Sky digital viewers take on the role of the all-action heroine Lara Croft as she embarks on a death-defying adventure

Players must guide Lara through ancient Egyptian temples where she has to recover the mythical Eye of Osiris, which holds the key to immortality. Explore 10 levels of complex catacombs and corridors in search of rare artifacts and hidden exits whilst keeping a watch out for lethal traps and deadly enemies.

Episode 2: The Shadow FallsEdit

The second episode in a series, released in June 16, 2003.

The world's most famous video game character - Lara Croft returns to interactive TV, exclusively on Sky Gamestar. Tomb Raider Episode 2: The Shadow Falls continues on from the debut game The Eye Of Osiris.

This time, Lara has to find out more about the mythical Eye Of Osiris, which can communicate between earth and the spirit world and holds the key to immortality. Sky digital viewers take on the role of the all-action heroine Lara Croft as she embarks on the second stage of her death-defying adventures.

Players must guide Lara through a huge multi-store warehouse brimming with computers, high level security, lifts, and armed guards. Explore 10 levels in search of rare artifacts and hidden secrets whilst keeping a watch out for lethal traps and deadly enemies.

Episode 3: The Last MidnightEdit

The third episode in a series, released in December 25, 2003.

Sky digital viewers take on the role of the all-action heroine Lara Croft as she embarks on the third and final stage of her death-defying adventures on Sky Gamestar.

This time, the world's most famous video game heroine must find the mythical Eye of Osiris in order to save the world from certain destruction. The Last Midnight takes off where episode 2 ended, with Lara finding the entrance to the eerie underworld crypt. Players must guide Lara through ten levels and explore the caves and catacombs and defeat the army of evil ghouls and un-dead creatures that lurk in the maze.

For the first time, players will have to battle it out against the clock to complete the final level before the clock strikes midnight, making episode three the most exciting episode in the trilogy.

GameplayEdit

  • A 2D platform game - a first for Sky Gamestar
  • 10 game levels including a specially designed training area
  • Gamestar functionality will enable players to make Lara run, turn, step, crouch, roll, climb up and down, shoot, and jump!
  • Blue button reveals Lara's inventory and handheld map
  • Red button receives message texts with handy hints and tips
  • Pass-codes enable gamers to jump straight into a completed level
  • Save crystals allow players to restart partially completed levels
  • Sky Gamestar will follow up with a high-score version of Tomb Raider: Apocalypse, Episode 1: The Eye of Osiris that will feature a huge, specifically designed level that will be compatible with the Sky Gamepad enhanced functionality.
