Like many bird enemies, the vultures are capable of flight and use their beaks and claws to attack Lara.

Some early screenshots of what may be the Coastal Village level show Lara wearing her classic outfit battling a vulture in an area that does not appear in the final game. The South Pacific Islands enemies image below in the gallery section also suggests that the vultures may have appeared in that location but ultimately they did not.
